The funeral service took place at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Broadwell on Tuesday 3rd December with Mrs Denise Hogan officiating. During the service, the hymns The old rugged cross and How great Thou art were sung. A poem written and dedicated to Possel was read by granddaughters Zoe and Amy. A land between two rivers performed by the Forest of Dean Male Voice Choir was played during a period of reflection. On leaving the church a recording of Where We’ll Never Grow Old by Jim Reeves was played.

There followed a committal service at Mile End Cemetery.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Ernest Heal & Sons, who are collecting donations for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.
